A catch-all email mailbox receives messages sent to non-existent addresses under the very same domain name. For instance, an email message sent to the miswritten [email protected] will go to [email protected] if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get messages from mates or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain point you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

Configuring a catch-all email mailbox will be pretty easy in case you’ve got a Linux hosting plan with our company. You can activate this option through our advanced, albeit simple-to-use Email Manager, which is an essential part of the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will manage the web hosting account itself. You’ll find all the mailboxes that you have set up enumerated alphabetically and next to each of them there will be a mini "Catch-all" icon, which will quickly let you know whether a certain mailbox gets all the emails associated with a given domain or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this feature whenever you wish. In case there’s enabled email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been configured as a catch-all one for a particular domain, you will receive a warning note from our system. The latter won’t deactivate/replace anything automatically and without your consent.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all address can be created with several mouse clicks in case you have a semi-dedicated plan with our company. The semi-dedicated account will be administered via our in-house developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to set up email addresses using any domain name registered there. To enable the catch-all option for a specific mailbox, you will have to click the icon with the exact same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Disabling this option can be done in the same way and will not require more than one click either. If the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a certain domain name, you will receive a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you’d like to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never modify or disable anything automatically.
